Eadgifu (Adiva) of England
Anglo-Saxon princess
Born (919) - Died (after 940)
Father - Edward the Elder
Mother - Eadgifu of Kent
NOTE :
This lady was confusingly named after her mother (already having an elder half-sister of the same name)
Genealogies name this lady as the wife of ' Louis of Aquitaine. ' She was once thought to be the third wife of the former Emperor Louis III of Arles (880 - 928). This identification has now been proved incorrect
However, the character of Queen Edgive of Arles in the popular novel Avalon (1966) by Anya Seton had added to the confusion.
Under the name of 'Adiva' she had been identified (1967) as the wife of Boleslav II of Bohemia (925 - 999) but the chronology appears flawed. Likewise the attempt to identify Eadgifu with Adela of Alsace, the first wife of Conrad I the Peaceful, King of Burgundy (d 993) does not bear close scrutiny
Eadgifu married (after 929 and before 940) Louis of Burgundy
No children are recorded
