Edward II of England
King of England (1307 - 1327)
Created and invested as Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester (1301)
The first English prince to be so called - the eldest son of every monarch was granted this title hereafter
Duke of Aquitaine (1306)
He was deposed by Parliament and abdicated (Jan 25, 1327) in favour of his eldest son Edward III
Born (April 25, 1284) at Caernarvon Castle in Wales - Died (1341)

NOTE :
The long believed tradition that King Edward was brutally murdred in Berkeley Castle (Sept 21, 1327) is now rejected. Edward III baulked at the murder of his own father and instead King Edward took vows as a Franciscan monk and resided in Europe
